Donald Yance, founder of the Centre for Natural Healing, is an internationally renowned herbalist and nutritionist. Mr. Yance received his herbal training through Sequoia College and is a professional member of the American Herbalists’ Guild. He was trained as a clinical nutritionist through the National Institute of Nutritional Education and holds national certification through the Society of Certified Nutritionists. As well, he is a longstanding member of the Franciscan Order (SFO), which endows him with the gift of spiritual counsel. Through extensive research and nearly 20 years of clinical practice, Mr. Yance developed his unique Triphasic system, which forms the cornerstone of the Centre for Natural Healing’s clinical approach.  This wholistic therapeutic methodology is rooted in American Eclectic herbal tradition, constitutional energetics and contemporary clinical nutrition, continuously honed by the latest scientific research at molecular, cellular and genomic levels.

Mr. Yance is the author of Herbal Medicine, Healing and Cancer (1999 McGraw Hill Publishing), Thriving Beyond Surviving to be released in Fall 2007, and the co-author of Dr. Earl Mindell's Russian Energy Secret.  He has contributed to several books including The Complete Aromatherapy Handbook, by Suzanne Fisher-Rizzi, Breast Cancer? Breast Health!, by Susun S. Weed, My Healing from Breast Cancer, by Barbara Joseph, MD, and Total Breast Health, by Robin Keuneke.  He writes and reviews articles for several medical, nutritional and herbal journals including Journal of the American Herbalists Guild, Alternative Medicine Journal, Protocol Journal of Botanical Medicine, Prevention Magazine, Vegetarian Times, Self Magazine, and Total Health.  In addition, Mr. Yance is an editorial board member for Integrative Cancer Therapies and an advisory board member of Martha Stewart Center for Living at Mount Sinai.

Dr. Tabachnik is the co-developer of a number of Natura’s primary adaptogenic tonic formulas.  He has dedicated more than 30 years to his work as a coach for elite athletes and as a leading sport scientist.  Early in his career, he worked for the National Research Institute of Sport in Moscow.  He later received his Ph.D. and became a senior scientist. Dr. Tabachnik has implemented scientific discoveries in physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology and nutrition into the training programs of top-level athletes, members of the Soviet National Olympic Team (Sprinting).

Jason Miller, Lac, MAcOM, CH, CAK - Consultant

Jason began his study of science and medicine at the University of Minnesota in 1990 where he studied and taught in the College of Biological Sciences until 1995. He completed his undergraduate degree in physical and energy related sciences at the Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington in 1996. His independent study of herbal medicine began in 1993 after extensive travel throughout Central America and Polynesia where he developed his passion for plants, medicine, and healing. In 2005 Jason received his master’s degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in Portland, OR. Later that year he completed a 2 month, post graduate internship in Nanjing, China’s “House of Celebrity Doctors”. Jason also became a certified Applied Kinesiologist in 2005, and is formally trained in Asian Bodywork therapy which he offers through his clinic, Jade Mountain Medicine in Ashland, OR. Currently, he specializes in the management of cancer, diabetes, and neuromuscular disorders through Donnie Yance’s clinic, Centre for Natural Healing in Ashland, OR and has been closely mentored by Donnie for the past three years. In addition, he serves as the product specialist for Natura Health Products, Inc. where he offers consultations and technical support for Natura’s professional clients. Jason is also a member of Natura’s Board of Directors, and is on the Scientific Advisory Board for Yance’s non-profit foundation, Mederi.

Donald Yance’s Healing Philosophy

Wellness can be defined rather abstractly as intellectual, spiritual, emotional, and physical vitality, engaging in attitudes and behaviors that enhance the quality of life. A true state of being "well" is not merely a condition of the individual. Our wellness exists when it is inter-related with the wellness of family, community, and environment. Disease can manifest cellularly, energetically, physically, emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually and often involves many or all of these. My system of healing addresses the “whole” and is about the interwoven relationships and continuous process of decaying (catabolic) and becoming (anabolic), rather than a reductionistic examination of things.  A central component of my approach involves herbal and immuno-nutrients that enhance anabolic metabolism, in others words, to build up the body as a whole.  Its philosophical basis is focused around the concept of enhancing the “vital force” as the first and last foundation to healing. I believe that the underlying cause of most illness is a weakened constitution.  Therefore, we must work to enhance one’s vitality and adaptive capability by strengthening the person in a rational and non- toxic fashion.

Finally, we must offer our care with faith, hope, love, charity, humor, and in truth and spirit – the very substance of life. Faith transcends all human understanding.  It follows the path of our spirit.
