Ben Tabachnik
For more than 30 years, Dr. Ben Tabachnik devoted his life to coaching elite athletes and researching advances in the field of sports science. He gained worldwide recognition for his work implementing scientific discoveries in physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology and nutrition into the training programs of elite athletes, including members of the Soviet National Olympic Team.
In 1985, as head of the Experimental Group for the National Team, Dr. Tabachnik created a unique and effective program for maximizing sports performance without undermining the health and wellbeing of the athletes. The program pioneered alternatives to anabolic steroids, including innovations in training techniques and nutrition. In the 1990’s, Dr. Tabachnik consulted with professional teams such as the Denver Broncos, Detroit Pistons and Chicago Bulls, furthering his reputation as an expert in the field of sports performance enhancement.
In 2001, Dr. Tabachnik partnered with Donald Yance to co-formulate Natura’s primary adaptogenic formulas, and drawing upon his expertise in sports performance, helped to define the direction of our athletic performance program.
Dr. Tabachnik obtained a PhD in Physical Education and Sport Science from the National Research Institute of Sport in Moscow, USSR; a MS in Biology from State University in Baku, USSR; and a MS in Physical
Education from State University in Baku, USSR. He died May 29, 2008.
