Primary objective of position:

The General Manager directs and coordinates departmental activities, aids in administering organizational policies, and helps support the company by overseeing and managing projects. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of direct reports and for carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, vision and mission.

The General Manager will collaborate with company executives to implement strategic plans for business growth based on short-term and long-term goals. 

What we need:

We need an ambitious and self-motivated General Manager to lead, inspire, and support our team. The ideal candidate would have industry experience in the professional supplement marketplace. The General Manager will collaborate with the executive team in administering organizational policies and achieving company goals. In addition, we need a person who can effectively communicate these goals and help lead, direct and coordinate activities to achieve company objectives.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Participates with executive team in the development, review and implementation of business strategic planning including sales, financial performance, and new product development.
  • Provides leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training, and development.
  • Provides leadership for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships.
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all direct reports
  • Increases management’s effectiveness through active listening with both superiors and subordinates as well as possesses strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ensures all procedures and controls are followed to promote communication and adequate information flow within the organization.
  • Collaborates with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems and processes regarding growth objectives and mission of the organization.
  • Creates the structure and processes necessary to manage departmental activities and measure results.
  • Analyzes and presents objective overview of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine organization's progress toward stated goals and objectives.
  • Meets with COO on a regular basis for direction and input on all projects concerning the organization.
  • Confers with CEO monthly to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions.
  • Quarterly evaluates the results of overall departmental operations regularly and reports these results to the CEO.
  • Assists and provides financial oversight in planning and development of departmental budgets.
  • Oversees key projects, processes and performance reports, data and analysis.

Sales & Education Responsibilities:

  • Works with executive team on the coordination and alignment of sales, education, and marketing objectives and reports to executive team on the status of those objectives.
  • Helps develop and optimize external and internal educational strategies and programs.
  • Assists in creating educational initiatives and activities.
  • Formulates or develops team goals, objectives and evaluates key performance indicators (KPI)  to measure success of company long and short-term goals.
  • Reviews and optimizes operational data workflow including existing Salesforce CRM platform, e-commerce, and distribution platforms.
  • Assists in the development and oversight of sales objectives. 
  • Coordinates with Customer Service department to optimize sales initiatives with customers.
  • Works with marketing team to ensure the optimization of lead processing strategies.
  • Analyzes and reports on existing customer sales quarterly with COO.

Education/ Experience desired: 

Master's degree (M.B.A.) or equivalent; or five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Business or operational management degree preferred.  Experience in the professional supplement industry preferred.
